Sri Lanka's SLASSCOM to Host Women in Tech Conference

• The sessions are designed to promote and enhance women’s participation in the tech industry

SLASSCOM is organising a conference called “Women In Technology,” with a particular focus on prominent female leaders globally and in Sri Lanka, and how the role of women continues to evolve in the digital economy.

The theme for this year’s conference is, “Give To Gain: Building Inclusive Digital Futures,” with keynote presentations and panel discussions around women in technology, and guidance on how to become a technology leader.

In terms of keynotes, Sindhu Gangadharan (Managing Director - SAP Labs India & NASSCOM Chairperson) will be the first keynote speaker on the impact that artificial intelligence can have on improving the number of women working.

The second keynote presentation will be delivered by Anna Metz (Sr Digital Specialist, The World Bank), on how to create inclusive digital ecosystems for women to more readily achieve leadership roles.

Additionally, the agenda includes a panel discussion regarding what future-ready leadership skills are needed, moderated by a representative from Uber, and panelists from Dialog Axiata PLC, GTN Technologies, Plantsed, and the challenges faced by female leaders within a digital-first business environment.

Inclusion in the workplace will be discussed during a session presented by Dijital Global. This session will look at how inclusion impacts team performance.

Another session will be dedicated to governance, risk, and digital accountability. This session will bring professionals from different fields in the technology and corporate industries.

The conference will also have a fireside chat on leadership, performance, and well-being. This session will provide practical insights on how to manage one’s professional and personal well-being. Another session by Tilli will be dedicated to lessons from entrepreneurial leadership in technology.

Additionally, there will be a masterclass on mindset and career progression. Another session will be dedicated to long-term leadership, influence, and mentorship. This session will be presented by senior leaders in the industry and will focus on how to create opportunities for others in the industry.
