Taelor O'Dorisio, the creator of the Golden-based Tea with Tae, which successfully closed one of the doomed popups on the 16th Street Mall in 2022, has big things in the works. She is the only 2025 fellow from Colorado and the neighboring states, and she was recently chosen as one of 50 female entrepreneurs nationwide to represent this year's Tory Burch Foundation fellowship.
By 2030, the renowned fashion designer's charity organization hopes to have created one billion dollars in economic impact through solely women-led enterprises. Its twelve-month program, which is exclusively available to the best applicants, offers zero-interest loans, coaching sessions, digital seminars, and a $5,000 business education award.
"We continue to grow our production plant, adding additional square footage and machines. Having access to finance is always crucial, but it's not always simple to obtain. We're aiming to capitalize on the enormous advantage of having assistance with that," Taelor adds, noting that growth has been steady since the establishment of her tea business in 2020.
Taelor grew up in a family of business owners and had always been interested in starting his own company. While trying to purchase a tea sampler that would make a thoughtful gift, she had an epiphany. "I recently discovered cardboard tea boxes, which are excellent. However, she clarifies, "I wasn't seeking to offer a lavish, exquisitely wrapped gift.
The Tea Bento Box, the brand's signature product, was inspired by this. This affordable luxury, which retails for $50, comes with six different types of tea, each of which is packaged in five sachets in vibrant tubes. Customers can choose from its selection of caffeine-free options, bestsellers, or create their own collection from fourteen blends, which include Taelor 's personal favorite, lemon ginger, lavender Earl Grey, and jasmine green tea.
Tea with Tae sources its ingredients from throughout the world from a number of vendors, including The Chai Box in Marietta, Georgia. In 2022, Monica Sunny, the founder of that company, received a fellowship from the Tory Burch Foundation. She informed me about the program and recommended that I apply," remembers O'Dorisio, who also says Monica has been "wonderful."
She wants to get in touch with business owners who have successfully negotiated relationships with big retailers and take use of the program's nationwide network.
Tea with Tae made a successful debut in 200 Home Goods stores last year, and this holiday season, its goods will be available in every Anthropologie in the nation, for a total of more than 200 new outlets. "We've been working on that for a few years, so it's a big deal for us," she says.
