Trilby Glover's 'All That Glisters' to Premiere at AWFF

Trilby Glover, who is both the writer and director of the film, will make her debut as the special presentation in the Spotlight series of the 2026 Australian Women’s Film Festival in Sydney.

All That Glisters will premiere at the AWFF on September 23, 2026, at 6 pm at Event Cinemas, George Street. In the wake of this film premier, Trilby will have an “In Conversation” with the audience where she will speak about her experiences in acting, writing and directing.

All That Glisters is a mystery comedy that takes place in the glittering surroundings of a Hollywood Hills dinner party. It revolves around a few aging artists and aspiring newcomers who get together for wine, affirmation and a second chance of becoming relevant in their life.

Power, ambition, friendship and struggles with defining oneself as an artist are all themes explored in the film. As the night begins as one filled with social events, it soon becomes an event filled with chaos as the guests come face-to-face with some hidden truths and underlying tension.

The ensemble cast stars 13 guests of the dinner party, along with Trilby who appears in a lead role. The ensemble cast includes Jessica McNamee, Caitlin Stasey, Luka Jones, Ryan Cartwright, Ben Geurens, Michael Hitchcock, Corbett Tuck, Jocelyn Towne, Johnny Ray Meeks, Emily Alpren, Archie Panjabi, Adam Campbell, Jayma Mays, Zeke Goodman and Morgan Dover-Pearl.

The film made its world premiere at the recent CinefestOZ in Western Australia and will make its East Coast premiere at AWFF.

Trilby added regarding the selection that she is so happy with having the film selected for a film festival that is dedicated to the works by female filmmakers. In addition, she added that it is important to create various diverse female characters and tell their stories via the film.

Tahyna MacManus, Co-Director of the Australian Women’s Film Festival said that the festival is very happy to start off the 2026 Spotlight Series with Trilby and All That Glisters. She also added that the festival presentation is a great opportunity to celebrate the debut of Trilby as a feature film director.

Previously, Trilby directed a short film titled Awkward Expressions of Love that premiered on the opening night of the Palm Springs International ShortFest. This film was also shown at the Cleveland International Film Festival. The short film won the Best Female Filmmaker award at the Chicago Comedy Film Festival and Best Comedy Award at Brazil’s MICA Film Festival.

In his role as an actor, Trilby is seen in Netflix’s “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” in FOX’s “Scream Queens,” and in “88 Minutes” and “Righteous Kill,” starring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.

“Everything That Glitters” is produced by Lindsy Lanzillotta, while Ian Brennan is the executive producer. The co-producer of the film is Simone Kirlew. Jonathan Melin edits the movie, while Deron Johnson is the composer and Sophie Delila Baudry the music supervisor.
