Vivian Aisen to Serve as Israel's Ambassador to Colombia

Israel will send veteran diplomat Vivian Aisen as its next ambassador to Colombia in a big move to improve the relationship with the South American nation after a rocky period. The Israeli government approved the appointment unanimously and on Sunday it was made public by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the appointment was announced in the ministry's press release. The switch is part of Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar's efforts to revitalize Israel's ties with Latin America and to strengthen ties throughout the region.

Vivian has a wealth of diplomatic experience and is expected to play a pivotal role in efforts to resume dialogue and cooperation with Colombia's government. Prior to her new role, Vivian was Israel's ambassador to North Macedonia where she was engaged in strengthening bilateral relations in various fields, such as political, economic, cultural and other areas. She also held high-ranking positions within the diplomatic world and served as the head of the Israeli Foreign Ministry's Central America Department, overseeing Israel's ties to the region's various nations and promoting bilateral ties in the field of trade, innovation, and development.
