WomenIN Festival Celebrates Women's Empowerment in South Africa

The WomenIN Festival 2025's conclusion was represented by the presence of hundreds of women from South Africa participating in two full days of acknowledging and supporting women’s empowerment. The event culminated with the embracing of the theme "Limitless: No Labels. No Limits. No Apologies."

The festival provided attendees with the opportunity to build authentic relationships with other attendees, form connections and develop social networks as well as acquire valuable resources and knowledge to further their ability to thrive across all aspects of their lives.

Each component within the festival was specifically designed to provide an inspiring, enriching and empowering experience for attendees.

As part of the festival, there were presentations on Panel Discussions, Interactive Dialogues, Wellness Sessions, Entrepreneurship Skills Workshops, Financial Literacy Masterclasses and opportunities to connect through Storytelling to Discuss Topics on Identity, Leadership, Resilience, Innovation and Holistic Wellbeing.

Leigh-Anne Williams, a popular radio and television presenter, provided her enthusiasm and passionate support of bringing everyone together for an experience of connectedness through being the MC at the event.

The festival also coincided with South African Entrepreneur Month, focused on business and economic empowerment.

Attending the WomenIN Festival had them receiving important practical insight into starting and scaling a successful business, managing finances effectively, and confidently navigating the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Speakers included Raksha Naidoo, who spoke about women's leadership in male-dominated industries, and Thando Hopa, who spoke on representation, identity, and the impact of culture and media.

Joni Peddie shared insights on emotional agility and intentional leadership, while Babalwa Latsha spoke on advancing women in sport and creating career pathways. Wellness sessions led by Dr. Kate Klaasen and Dr. Simone Silver addressed burnout and holistic wellbeing.

Additionally, there was a session on gender-based violence, "Breaking the Silence, Rebuilding Lives," facilitated by Merlize Jogiat, where survivor voices were elevated and systems solutions were deliberated upon.

The event concluded on a high note with the 2025 Good Hope FM Warrior Women Awards to recognize women whose leadership and impact continue to shape industries, communities, and national narratives.
