Workshop at PaintLab Highlights Trust & Compassion in Leadership

Kimberlee Centera, CEO of TerraPro Solutions, led a leadership workshop facilitated by the Los Angeles Chapter of Women in Cleantech & Sustainability. Professionals were brought together to discuss various leadership styles that could be applied in real-life work environments.

The participants took part in role-based activities that involved being both leaders and emerging leaders. These activities were meant to promote awareness about aspects like psychological safety. The role of diverse viewpoints in identifying strengths and fostering forward-thinking decision-making was also discussed.

Throughout this session, speakers pointed out those workers need meaningful work, growth opportunities, and transparency from their leaders. Leadership practices that were addressed in this workshop included transparency and interaction with teams.

The feedback provided by the participants of this workshop was positive and included information that this workshop was helpful and provided value through interaction and networking. A few participants pointed out that learning how to apply certain techniques regarding empathy and vulnerability was helpful in difficult conversations.

The workshop ended by addressing a wider discussion that involved collaboration in leadership and how shared values and feedback are essential for this process. Leadership is a shared process that emphasizes shared responsibility and organizational outcomes rather than hierarchy.
