Sojourner Truth – Advocate for Women & Enslaved People

The world is indebted to Sojourner Truth, the activist against racial and gender injustice. She was an influential supporter of the abolition of slavery and the rights of women in the United States in the 19th century.
She was born in New York in slavery and later escaped, still Sojourner is remembered by her famous speech in the year 1851, am not a woman, through this speech, she refused the notion that “women were passive and reliant and brought forth the issue of discrimination against the Black women”
She fought against slavery and the struggle to gain equality as women. She expressed the truth across the country by her speech, sharing her own experience, and giving awareness about human rights. Her work place led to the growth of feminist movement since emphasized that she could not understand gender equality without racial justice. Worldwide she is known as a great model of strength, bravery, and intersectionality activism nowadays.
