Emmeline Pankhurst - Fighting for Women’s Right to Vote

In the late 19th 20th century females were not entitled to vote and didn't have a voice in politics, Emmeline Pankhurst formed a movement ‘women social and political union’ which was to ensure women were allowed to vote, it was known as the Female Suffrage Movement then. The group earned the right with radical and even provocative ways such as protests.
Emmeline was arrested and faces cruel treatment from the authorities, but she remains strong despite all this. Through her leadership, female voting issue goes into an international perspective. In 1918 those struggling succeeded women in Britain were finally given the right to vote. The determination and boldness of Emmeline helped her to become one of the most significant leaders in the world in her quest to provide women with political rights.
