Sound Advice for Building Successful Career Journeys

My advice is simple: don’t hold back until you feel fully ready. Careers rarely follow a straight path, and no one ever feels like they know it all. While women continue to face systemic challenges—from bias in hiring to unequal access to opportunities—building strong networks and seeking out mentors can make a meaningful difference. Surround yourself with people who support your growth, seek out opportunities to expand your skills, and don’t be afraid to ask questions along the way. What truly matters is your openness to learn, your drive, and your resilience.

Recognise The Value of Your Perspective

My message to emerging women leaders is to recognise the value of the perspective you bring to the table. Diversity isn’t simply a principle; it’s a competitive edge. Many of today’s challenges, whether in technology or business, are too complex to be solved from a single viewpoint. Leadership with impact comes from bringing diverse experiences and ways of thinking together and creating environments where different voices can contribute meaningfully.  When women are empowered not just to participate but to lead, organisations benefit from stronger decision-making and more resilient teams.
