Launching on June 16, the First Ladies of Africa Impact and Resilience (FLAIR) Summit in London marks a landmark event, to champion structured efforts toward women’s leadership and youth empowerment as pillars of resilience. The event will bring together key stakeholders from Africa’s public and private sectors, with backing from the London Stock Exchange, Financial Times, and prominent global organizations.

Organizers highlight the three-day FLAIR Summit as a key venue for First Ladies to lead with localized strategies and forge joint initiatives that promote inclusive economic advancement. It will introduce a series of cross-sectoral programs designed to address Africa’s most pressing development challenges in areas such as health, education, business innovation, and leadership capacity.

The FLAIR Summit will feature engagements with influential stakeholders and visits to prominent UK institutions, aimed at deepening Africa’s integration into global investments and policy networks.  With foundational support from institutions like Elevate Africa and Compass Global, the summit is being developed to advance the objectives of Agenda 2063 and select UN SDGs, reinforcing its long-term impact.

Core discussions will center on enabling inclusive growth through digital innovation, sustainable practices, and industrial development, with a strong emphasis on empowering SMEs and driving cross-border collaboration.

Dr. Yvonne Thompson CBE highlighted that summit represents a decisive platform for continental collaboration and leadership, framing it as a mission-critical response to Africa’s development agenda.

“FLAIR 2025 is more than a conference; it is a continental call to action. African women are already propelling businesses, communities, and governments. Now, we are amplifying their voices on the global stage to engage in discourse, debate, and deliver enduring solutions for Africa’s future.”
