Amelie Moore to Represent Northern Ireland at Miss World 2026

Amelie Moore has been appointed as the new Miss Northern Ireland representative for Miss World 2026 in Vietnam after titleholder Carly Wilson withdrew from the competition due to health reasons. The 18 year-old from Ballyclare will now be competing for Northern Ireland on one of the world's biggest beauty pageshow platforms. Amelie is one of the bright young women achievers, and combines a passion for creating social impact, academic excellence and sporting ability.

Amelie is the next choice after Carly Wilson's move away from the competition for her health. Carly, a Miss Northern Ireland, has announced that she will have to miss the trip to Vietnam this year owing to "unforeseen circumstances". Looking back on her reign, she thanked everyone for the opportunities to help charitable causes, attend special events and meet with people throughout the year.

In her statement, Carly said, “It is with great regret this month that I must announce that due to circumstances beyond my control, I will not be able to attend the Miss World festival in Vietnam this month and will make my health a priority. I am so grateful for the wonderful experience this past year has been, from supporting the wonderful charities to attending fabulous events and meeting so many wonderful people.”

Amelie, who was the first runner-up at the Miss Northern Ireland national competition, is now appointed to represent Northern Ireland at the Miss World pageant 2026. Having taken part in numerous community events, she is also a dedicated A Level student, having just taken her exams in Biology, Psychology and Health & Social Care.

Amelie is also a highly successful competitive national level polo player. She has not only leveraged her  platform to promote sports but has also spoken candidly about her personal cancer experience to raise awareness. Her advocacy has inspired women to discuss the topic of resilience, early detection and hope, and for young girls, she is a role model to aspire to be as a women leader and a leader who leverages pageantry as a platform to promote positive messages.

Before the international competition, Amelie announced she will replace Carly's Miss Northern Ireland sash during the event, in honor of her predecessor.
