Gyeongbuk Center Launches Startup Support for Women Entrepreneurs

Startup incubation support will soon be initiated to revitalize the ecosystem of women startups in Gyeongbuk. The Gyeongbuk Branch of Women’s Business Support Center is inviting new tenants that include female aspiring entrepreneurs and startup companies with innovative ideas and technical skills.

This center will support the growth of the business in a sustainable way through provision of space and incubation program tailored to the needs of the selected individuals.

The Gyeongbuk branch of the Korea Women's Business Support Center will be conducting an admission process for new tenant companies of the 2026 Startup Incubation Center from August 5 to 31. This process is conducted under the "Women's Business Development Project 2026" funded by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. The purpose of the project is to develop women-led startups at the Gyeongbuk branch's Startup Incubation Center situated in Gumi, Gyeongbuk.

The target businesses are women-led businesses founded less than 7 years ago in accordance with the 'Act on Support for Women-Owned Businesses' and the 'Act on Support for Small and Medium Enterprise Startups,' or women entrepreneurs who are able to register their business within 6 months after they move in.

Gyeongbuk Center is expected to pay attention to locating and nurturing female-owned businesses in the domain of AI transformation (AX) and novel startups. Companies can take advantage of individual incubation rooms and co-working areas, and also have their tenancy renewed for up to three years upon review after a first year’s tenancy.

In addition to providing office space, chosen companies are offered incubation services appropriate for the startup stage, which include consultancy and mentoring, access to programs that assist SMEs, and network formation for female CEOs.

Application can be made by email and in-person submission. Final tenant companies are chosen through the review of their entrepreneurial skills, technical feasibility, and business viability.

Preferential treatments including bonus points are also available for those who win Women’s Entrepreneurship Competition, female workers who come back to the labor market after taking a career break, Startup Care Program participants, and businesses noted for great female employment.
