AwakenAngels Secures US Partnership to Boost Women Investors

By: GWL Team | Tuesday, 10 February 2026

  • AwakenAngels is back from a trade mission to the United States
  • They struck a strategic partnership with Women in Innovation, commonly known as WIN
  • The partnership also looks to help more women become early-stage investors themselves

Ireland’s sole all-island angel investment syndicate, AwakenAngels, is back from its latest trade mission to the United States, in which it struck a strategic partnership with global organisation Women in Innovation (WIN), aiming at increasing female participation as early-stage investors.

As a result of this partnership agreement, women across the globe working in innovation, technology, finance, and enterprise will now be able to participate in the AwakenAngels Academy, a CPD-accredited program for developing the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to execute angel investing activities effectively.

This partnership will ensure that the members of the WIN organization, numbering 6,000 individuals, will be able to access the academy activities as a way of investing in early-stage companies by Irish women.

WIN members are encouraged to participate in the upcoming AwakenAngels Academy cohorts scheduled for 2026. The next academy will begin on 17th February, with limited spots for sponsorship available.

Founded in 2023, it has helped eight of its sister founder community, AwakenHub, portfolio firms access funding in excess of €4.3m.

The firms include Gigi Supplements, which raised €1.5m in funding and is now listed in over 200 stores across Ireland, including Boots and Holland & Barrett, and four syndicate deals which are set to close within the coming weeks.

The partnership has been announced at a reception hosted by the residence of the British Consul General, New York, which was attended by diplomatic dignitaries from Ireland and the UK.

The announcement has come during AwakenHub and AwakenAngels’ fourth St Brigid’s Day Trade Mission, where 13 women founders from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland made funding pitches ranging from £1.5 million to £7 million.

Research cited from the hidden women report revealed that 89 percent of 2,700 women surveyed value financial independence, and this increases to 92 percent in women aged 45 and over.

This collaboration is supposed to shape better women investors and facilitate better funding options for early-stage enterprises as well.
