Bree Jamieson-Holloway Named Chairperson of Trade Tribunal

  • The Government of Canada has appointed Bree Jamieson-Holloway as Chairperson of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal
  • She has been holding the position of acting chairperson since December 31, 2025

 

The Government of Canada has appointed Bree Jamieson-Holloway as Chair of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) to serve until December 4, 2027. Her appointment as Chair occurred more than two months after she became the Vice-Chair of CITT on December 5, 2022.

Bree had been the Managing Lawyer at Jamieson Law, a boutique business law firm she founded in January 2017 and operated as Gowling WLG until November 2022.

As Co-founder and CEO of Nurtured Life Co., which Bree established in September 2017, she held those titles until July 2020.

From October 2018 to July 2020, she worked as a partner at Momentum Business Law. Bree has extensive experience with businesses working across Canada and internationally through Growscope and the business communities in London, UK and Hong Kong.

Bree aids newcomers entering the Canadian marketplace by utilizing both her business and legal expertise. She has worked extensively in international trade within a number of regulatory environments and systems worldwide.

In addition to many other successful business ventures, she also serves as a mentor, is very active in her community, and collaborates with organizations to create and foster diversity.

As recognition for her accomplishments, she has received awards such as: Lifetime Achievement Award at the Businesswoman of the Year Awards in 2024, and being named as one of Ottawa's forty under 40 in 2020.

On March 19th, Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne announced Bree’s appointment by the Minister of Finance to the Independent Committee for Trade Remedies.

The Independent Committee for Trade Remedies is an independent, quasi-judicial tribunal that reports to Parliament through the Minister of Finance; it investigates and determines matters related to dumping, subsidies, procurement appeals before the Canada Border Services Agency, procurement appeals before the Canada Revenue Agency, and supervises safeguard inquiries.
