  • In a recent announcement, Mango revealed the appointment of Eva Gallego
  • She will be acquiring the position of global director of women's category for the firm

As part of its leadership shake-up, Mango has made Eva Gallego the global director of its women's category. She will replace Luis Maseres, who is leaving after 11 years at the company. Gallego will take up the position formally in September and will be reporting to product director Luis Casacuberta.

In a statement, Luis Casacuberta said, “We’re pleased to welcome such an experienced and accomplished professional as Eva Gallego to the team. We are confident that under her leadership, the women's line will maintain its strong momentum, strengthening its distinctive value proposition and consolidating its position in the market.”

Over two decades of global experience working in the fashion business, Eva Gallego has been in senior roles at leading firms such as El Corte Inglés, Tous, Inditex and LVMH. Her experience encompasses product development and strategic change within the fashion, luxury, and retail markets. She is most recently director of accessories, luxury and footwear purchasing at El Corte Inglés. Previously, she was in charge of all product departments at Tous and oversaw the accessories category at Zara Woman.

This appointment forms part of Mango's 4E 2024–2026 Strategic Plan, aimed at strengthening the group's leadership, especially in the women's segment that today accounts for 70% of total revenues. Mango Woman's objectives are to consolidate its own distinctive market positioning and fuel further growth through innovation, sustainability and international expansion.

Luis Maseres, currently the departing division head, has been with Mango since 2014 and has held multiple strategic positions across commercial and product functions. He was instrumental in building the brand's accessories strategy and, in the last four and a half years, guided the turn-around of the women's category while reorganizing teams, defining its positioning and extending its visibility in various markets.

Gallego's appointment comes after a change of leadership in June, when Jonathan Andic resigned as global director of Mango Man to take the reins of his family's asset management firms, which manage business and real estate interests. Mango appointed Josep Estol to succeed him.
