Global women’s sports revenues will surpass $3 billion in 2026 compared with $2.4 billion in 2025, according to an analysis carried out by Deloitte.

The analysis indicates that the revenues generated through women's sport activities have risen by 340 percent within the last four years, thus boosting investments and encouraging further growth.

It was indicated by Deloitte that increasing investments had led to high expectations among all the stakeholders, including fans, athletes, investors, and partners.

According to Alicia Hatch, the sector would now move to a stage of scale, organization, and investment, where there will be a focus on sustainable growth in terms of leagues, sponsors, and media partners.

The analysis, named 'Game Changers: unlocking the potential of women’s sports', examines three major revenue streams, which include commercial, broadcast, and match day. The commercial income constitutes the largest percentage, which stands at 45 percent.

The two women's sports expected to generate the most revenues are soccer and basketball. Each one of these games will account for 35 percent of the revenue stream. Growth will be attributed to newly formed competition events like Unrivaled Basketball, and leagues like the Canadian Northern Super League.

In 2025, North America was the biggest market for women’s sports with 53 percent of revenues, whereas Europe ranked second with 16 percent.

The report forecasts that this trend will persist. Some of the most significant events were the Women’s Rugby World Cup held in London in 2025, where there were 82,000 people watching the final match, and the Women’s Cricket World Cup. Moreover, eight women’s sports leagues have been established in North America since 2020.

Women’s sports continue to grow, accompanied by an ever-growing global fan base, claims Lara Abrash. With revenues estimated to exceed $3 billion, efforts are directed towards creating a solid foundation for the industry’s future success.
