Innospec is a leading global specialty chemical company and announces its partnership with Africa Gifted Foundation (AGF), a non-profit organization collaborating to provide education with the objective of promoting access to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education among young women in Africa.

The partnership agreement provides that Innospec shall support five students who intend to pursue four-year STEM programs in African universities, thus enabling them to pursue the courses, besides allowing them to join the summer school.

The initiative is associated with the African Science Academy, which is a school for advanced learning in various STEM fields and is geared towards the education of young and gifted women.

The academy takes students from all over Africa for its one-year program, which has seen some of them secure positions in prestigious universities around the world.

So far, ASA has managed to educate over 260 students from 20 different countries in Africa since its formation.

Speaking about the partnership, Vali Jerome, President of Innospec Fuel Specialties, declared that it is very much in line with the strategy of Innospec to support sustainable development in Africa, where the company keeps developing its activities and customer base. Jerome declared: "We are supporting young females into STEM”.

Yasameen Al-Jboury, Executive Director of the Africa Gifted Foundation, said the partnership would provide the organisation with financial support, while also availing the beneficiaries to mentorships and professional undertakings.

The Africa Gifted Foundation will also link the students to the international community in STEM, thanks to the collaboration, she added.
