Johnson & Johnson has appointed María Paula Aldana Ospina as Global Lead of Compensation Centre of Excellence (COE), Total Rewards, marking a major milestone in her 17-year career with the global healthcare company. Announced from Bogotá, D.C., Colombia, in June 2026, the appointment reflects the organisation's confidence in her extensive expertise in human resources, compensation, talent management, and HR transformation. In her new position, María Paula will oversee the company's global compensation strategy, helping strengthen employee experience, talent development, and organisational performance across international markets.

Throughout her career at Johnson & Johnson, María Paula has built a strong reputation for leading strategic HR initiatives and advancing employee-focused programmes. Her broad experience spans total rewards, business partnering, workforce strategy, project management, and HR operations, enabling her to contribute significantly to the company's people agenda across Latin America and beyond.

Before assuming her latest position, María Paula served as Senior Manager, Americas Business Solutions. In this role, she collaborated with Global Experience Owners to enhance employee experiences across recruitment, learning and development, benefits, rewards, workforce administration, and intelligent automation. Her work focused on improving HR processes while supporting employees throughout their professional journey.

Earlier, she held the role of Global HR Manager in the Project Management Office (PMO), where she led cross-functional programmes to strengthen HR capabilities and deliver employee-centric solutions across the organisation. Her leadership in project execution and HR transformation helped drive operational excellence while supporting evolving business priorities.

María Paula's career progression within Johnson & Johnson also includes several key positions in total rewards and HR leadership. As Total Rewards Operations Manager for Latin America and previously as Total Rewards Specialist LATAM, she played a central role in implementing regional compensation strategies and enhancing rewards programmes. She also served as Business HR Partner, Pharma LATAM, where she supported talent management initiatives, developed workforce analytics frameworks, and strengthened HR metrics across the region.

Earlier in her tenure, María Paula managed compensation administration and HR operations for Colombia, Central America, the Caribbean, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico. These responsibilities provided her with a strong operational foundation while allowing her to develop expertise in managing complex regional HR functions and compensation programmes.

Before joining Johnson & Johnson, María Paula worked as a Human Resources Analyst at Ernst & Young. There, she coordinated international mobility programmes and HR administration for global clients, gaining valuable experience in talent management and cross-border HR operations that would later support her leadership within Johnson & Johnson.

As Global Lead of Compensation COE, Total Rewards, María Paula will now guide Johnson & Johnson's global compensation centre of excellence. She will be responsible for advancing equitable and innovative total rewards strategies that support employee engagement, attract and retain top talent, and reinforce the company's commitment to delivering an exceptional employee experience worldwide. Her appointment further demonstrates Johnson & Johnson's focus on developing experienced internal leaders to shape its future global workforce strategy.
