Global professional services leader Accenture has named Kate Clifford its new Global Chief Leadership and Human Resources Officer, as the company emphasizes leadership continuity and strategic reinvention. The new appointment, announced this week, is an integral part of Accenture's overall strategy of aligning its human capital strategy with the aspirations of its Reinvention Services program.
A 27-year company veteran, Kate previously oversaw HR operations in the Americas. As the new global leader, she will oversee leadership development, workforce agility, talent mobility, and employee engagement. She takes over from Angela Beatty, who transitioned to another leadership position within the company.
In line with Accenture's historical focus on developing talent internally, Kate joined as a business process consultant and progressed through a number of client delivery and HR leadership positions.
Accenture is going through a significant transition with the introduction of its Reinvention Services division, which combines expertise in digital transformation, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. Her promotion coincides with this development. Kate's background will be essential in developing talent strategies that integrate human leadership with technological innovation and are future-proof.
"Kate's strong background in business operations and human resources gives her a distinct point of view in motivating individuals in an era that calls for responsiveness, trust, and continuous innovation," a company representative said.
With nearly 800,000 workers worldwide, Accenture faces the challenge of maintaining cross-border unity and cultural diversity. In addition, Clifford will be responsible for managing hybrid work practices, preparing staff for careers enabled by AI, and promoting internal mobility throughout the company.
