South Wales-based Gavin Griffiths Group, a well -known waste management and recycling service provider, made an important appointment to strengthen its future growth. The company brought Kelly Rees as the new Business Development Manager in its Waste Management Division. This movement is seen as a big step to expand its offering with new hazardous waste services.

Kelly Rees is an experienced leader with over 18 years of experience in waste management and facility management. Her professional background covers areas such as total waste management, hazardous and liquid waste, waste brokerage, site services and compliance led operations. Starting her journey on the front line delivery and progressing to senior leadership positions, Kelly built a strong history that makes her an ideal choice for this role.

With her appointment, Gavin Griffiths Group plans to introduce a wide range of integrated waste management solutions under its “total waste management” approach. Until now, the company has been known for services like skip hire, materials recycling, land remediation, site clearance, and steam treatment for contaminated soil. Moving forward, it will now add hazardous waste solutions along with site services such as CCTV drainage surveys, tank cleaning, decommissioning, preventive maintenance, pest control, and even emergency spill response and crisis management.

Sharing her emotion, Kelly said she is proud to join the Gavin Griffiths group during such an important phase of its journey. She believes her compliance-led operational experience will help create strong foundations for these new services. According to her, customers will now benefit from a one-stop solution for all waste management needs, while continuing to take advantage of the approach focused on group sustainability.

Gavin Griffiths, Managing Director, highlighted that Kelly's leadership is a perfect fit for the company's plans to serve large and complex sites such as factories and plants. He praised her vast knowledge of the sector, leadership qualities and customer relationship skills, all of which are already adding value to the team.

This appointment is also a strong example of women leaders who shape industries such as waste management, who traditionally see fewer women in senior positions. Kelly's journey reflects how experience and leadership can bring sustainable changes by opening doors to more professional women in this sector.
