Kersia, which is a global food safety company, is forming an international partnership with Meat Business Women (MBW).

According to the company, the purpose of this partnership is to support their international female workforce with development programs, networking opportunities, and masterclasses on leadership.

This partnership will officially commence with an in-person event in the United Kingdom prior to International Women’s Day, March 8th. Kersia is slated to be the host for the first in-person global initiative session.

Kersia UK Managing Director Andrew Downie commented on this partnership, “This partnership is absolutely aligned with our growth strategy, ambition, and global diversity and inclusion strategy. At Kersia, we have a very unique approach to growth through focusing on inclusion and developing our talent across our global workforce.”

Currently, Kersia has over 3,000 staff worldwide, with women holding commercial, technical, and operational positions within the company.

The company has operations in over 90 countries, providing products to the farm, food processing, and food service markets. With the increasing footprint of the company, Kersia has stated that the development of its staff is key to the long-term development of the business.

The partnership has also been seen as part of the overall drive within the food industry to address the gender imbalance within the food chain.

The Food Business Charter, established by MBW, has collectively committed to reaching the goal of 40 percent female representation within the global food chain by 2035.

MBW’s Managing Director, Joanna Parnell, has stated that the partnership is good news, with the connection, training, and mentoring that the food industry can achieve playing an important part in the retention of women within the food chain.
