Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association Signs Family-Friendly MoU

The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Korea Institute for Healthy Family to promote family-friendly management practices among women-owned businesses in South Korea. The partnership aims to encourage more women-led companies to adopt workplace systems that support employees in balancing professional responsibilities with family life.

The agreement was signed on September 17 at the association’s headquarters in Gangnam, Seoul. Through the partnership, the two organizations will work together to raise awareness of the national family-friendly certification program among women business leaders and encourage more women-owned companies to participate.

As part of the agreement, the organizations will jointly promote the family-friendly certification program at gatherings, conferences and other events involving women entrepreneurs. They will also provide information and training to help business owners understand the certification process and the benefits of introducing family-friendly workplace policies.

The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association (KWEA) Chairwoman Park Chang-sook noted that the management that considers family-friendly aspects is becoming increasingly important to businesses aiming to maintain their competitiveness for the long haul. She said these practices are a crucial part of the success of companies and not solely a workplace endeavor.

The new partnership will encourage women entrepreneurs to be at the forefront of implementing family-friendly systems in their organizations. The association also hopes to leverage its network of women business leaders to promote awareness of the certification program and promote its adoption.
