On 2nd December, London - Global Leaders & Experts will meet for the Launch of "ALL IN: Global Leaders To End GENDERS BASED VIOLENCE (GBV)".

The aim of this initiative is to increase Political Commitment to ending violence against Women and Girls, along with creating Sustainable Funding Mechanisms, which will ensure that the prevention of Violence against Women and Girls remains a National Priority by ALL governments in the World.

Gender Based Violence (GBV) has wide-ranging Economic, Social and Human impact on the lives of Women & Girls. It is estimated that over 1 Billion Women & Girls World-wide, have at some point during their lives experienced GBV, while on average, each day 140 Women/Girls are murdered by an Intimate partner or Family member.

The impact on the Global Economy due to GBV is estimated to cost US$1.5 Trillion per year, with Vulnerable Women (i.e.: those from Low-Socio Economic Status) suffering disproportionately.

The current Trends in regard to Humanitarian Disaster response, Conflict and Global Warming highlight that the current Response Mechanisms are inadequate for current needs.

ALL IN is co-led by Ford Foundation, Wellspring Philanthropic Foundation and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), along with Equality Institute serving as the secretariat.

The initiative is underpinned by recognition that GBV is preventable, and that it will take long-term leadership and resourcing to catalyze major sustained global activity. The panel was comprised of high profile leaders, activists, and survivors including

Graça Machel, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Geeta Rao Gupta, María Fernanda Espinosa, Tarana Burke, Dr. Denis Mukwege, Mabel van Oranje, Charlotte Bunch, Harriet Harman, Trang Nguyen, Sima Samar, Ross Taylor, Victor Madrigal-Borloz, Vivir Quintana

Members will serve for at least two years, advised by an Expert Advisory Group composed of researchers, practitioners, activists, and survivors who will help align the initiative with global evidence, policy, and frontline activism. This Advisory Group will play a role in providing technical guidance on GBV prevention.
