At the 2026 Women’s Global Impact Forum hosted by Newsweek, Kristen Holmes Global Head of Performance and Principal Scientist at WHOOP and Holly Shelton Chief Product Officer at Oura, took the stage together to discuss the role of data from a wearable device in helping manage stress and better understand wellness decisions. The event took place on March 25, 2026, at London West Hollywood.
On the panel with Kristen and Holly was Lisa Dyer, Executive Director of the GPS Innovation Alliance. The discussion was moderated by Katherine Fung (Senior Reporter at Newsweek).
Both Kristina and Holly indicated their products are competitors during the panel discussion, however, they agree that data derived from a wearable device can help a person manage their stress, as well as to gain further insight into the overall wellness decision-making process.
Holly spoke specifically about how wearables provide users with insights about how much physical and emotional stress is experienced and whether recovery is needed, as well as provides long-term insights, as opposed to being a one-time insight.
Holmes indicated that one's perception of their control over their own health correlates closely with their total well-being and stated how a wearable can be an asset in your health and wellness journey.
