Nigeria’s Wema Bank has rolled out N2 Million grant to reiterate its dedication to gender equity. Supporting the SheCan 6.0 Conference for the fifth year in a row, the partners will award the funding scheduled for July 18, 2025 at Balmoral, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos. Centered around the theme ‘SheCan Do More’, the conference aims to ignite purpose-driven action among 7,000 women across sectors helping in networking, inspiration and development.

According to Ayodele Olojede, Head of Retail and SME Banking, the N2 million grant is designed to help small and medium businesses within the SARA Community achieve sustainable growth through access to capital, tools, training, and strategic networks. Through its dedicated women-focused platform, the bank will extend financial support to female founders within the SARA Community.

Ayodele said, Wema Bank is committed to empowering women entrepreneurs by providing the financial backing, tools, training, and networks they need to scale sustainably. Year after year, we’ve seen the incredible ripple effect that access, and opportunity can create in the lives of women and their communities.

“Through SARA by Wema, our goal is to create an environment where Nigerian women can dream bigger, build stronger, and lead the economy with confidence. This partnership with SheCan is a statement of belief in the power of women to transform society.”

Framing the collaboration as a strategic investment, Wema Bank will support Nigerian women in scaling their enterprises and expanding influence. Women-led businesses must submit a two-page pitch covering their mission, founder story, market need, target audience, and grant impact. Eligible applicants must be women-led businesses with active Wema Bank accounts and active participation in the SARA network.
