Singer-songwriter and actor Olivia Rodrigo has revealed a new women-led music festival called Daisy Chain Fields, which will involve an all-female line-up that includes KATSEYE, Chappell Roan, Doechii, Mitski, Garbage, Bikini Kill, and other celebrated female acts. The one-day festival is scheduled to happen at Great Park in Irvine, California on August 29th.
The announcement was posted on social media by Olivia who wrote that the festival was a long-time dream comes true. “It's been a dream of mine, I've been wanting to do this festival for years,” she wrote, "So ecstatic it is finally coming true.”
The first line-up is across all generations and genres. Other artists that perform with Olivia include Bikini Kill, Chappell Roan, Die Spitz, Doechii, Eli, Garbage, KATSEYE, Mitski, Not for Radio, Quiet Light, Rachel Chinouriri, Santigold, and The Breeders. There will be special guests in the form of legendary artists Stevie Nicks, Sarah McLachlan and Karen O from Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
One of the festival's most notable collaborations is Chappell Roan's inclusion. Olivia and Roan have been close for the past few years, even before it was until they signed to a record label. Produced by Dan Nigro, Roan subsequently introduced Olivia’s Sour and Guts world tours, got an appearance in the Guts concert film, and provided backing vocals to songs such as "Lacy" and "Get Him Back!”
Key Highlights:
The event has been likened to the pioneering 'all-women touring' festival, Lilith Fair, launched by Sarah McLachlan in 1997. Lilith Fair will run across North America, whereas Daisy Chain Fields will be a one-day festival. In a 2025 documentary, Olivia said that she had been inspired by Lilith Fair, which had many of her favorite artists.
Daisy Chain Fields is more than homage to women in music; it's a philanthropic mission. The official statement of the festival says that it will serve as a place for "joy, community and creativity to be effective agents of change. 100% of the net proceeds from the festival will go to support organizations promoting the rights and welfare of women and girls.
The beneficiaries are Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, and Center for Reproductive Rights, FreeFrom, Jhpiego, and Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, National Domestic Workers Alliance, National Institute for Reproductive Health, National Women's Law Center and Planned Parenthood.
It's a pivotal moment in Olivia's career. After her No. 1 debut albums Sour (2021) and Guts (2023), she released her third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 on June 12. The lead single of the album titled ‘Drop Dead' has also hit the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100, which will make Rodrigo the first artist to have the lead singles from all three of her studio albums hit No. 1, and all three albums will open on top of the Billboard 200.
Daisy Chain Fields is also a continuation of Olivia's philanthropic activities. In 2024, she founded Fund 4 Good, which focuses on reproductive rights and girls' education as well as Gender Based Violence (GBV) initiatives. In 2025 she was awarded Planned Parenthood's Catalyst of Change Award and her Guts World Tour has risen over $2 million for charities related to the cause.
