Pepsi Unveils New Female Ambassadors Ahead of Summer Football

  • Lauren James, England's trailblazing football star, becomes a new ambassador 

 

Pepsi launched its new team of unstoppable women world ambassadors who will bring the game to a new level in the run-up to an unforgettable summer of football. They join the brand's existing world ambassador, Leah Williamson, and comprise two of women's football's greatest-ever players in two-time Ballon d'Or Féminin winner Alexia Putellas, England starlet Lauren James, Norwegian record-breaking winger Caroline Graham Hansen, and Farah Jefry, one of the foundation stones of women's football in Saudi Arabia. 

The meteoric ascent of women's football, the world's fastest-growing sport today, has swept the hearts of devoted fans off their feet. Its shattering records, packing out stadiums to capacity, and drawing more fans than ever before. Pepsi has been at the heart of football for 50 years, powering the sports most unforgettably moments and paying tribute to the sport's biggest legends.  

Today, the brand is turning its attention to the next generation of heroes, footballers who will make their own marks on the world stage. The new sponsors have made over 260 worldwide appearances in total, known for their fearless attitude, ability, and passion for the game. Headed up by Spain's two-time Ballon d'Or Féminin winner Alexia Putellas, who's known for her vision, ball control, and technical ability, she's an inspiration to footballers around the globe. 

"I am thrilled to be joining the Pepsi family," commented Alexia. "The women's game is the fastest growing sport, and I am eager for fans to see what's coming this summer." Pepsi also signs on England teenager star Lauren James, who has an electric pace and passing vision that can win the game. "It's an honor to sign with Pepsi as a worldwide ambassador for so many fantastic talented sportswomen," Lauren said. "Be ready to view our campaign—it is going to be incredible." 

And Norway's Caroline Graham Hansen, Ballon d'Or Féminin nominee and one of the best and most admired footballers on the planet, renowned for her sense of humor on the field. "I'm looking forward to joining the Pepsi family on a global level," Caroline added. "Women's football is on the up, and Pepsi's backing will spread the love to fans worldwide." 

In midfield, Saudi Arabia's Farah Jefry makes her presence felt, renowned for her accurate passing and clever positioning. She was the leading scorer in Saudi Arabia's first women's league. “Pepsi’s legacy in football is legendary, and joining this incredible roster is a dream comes true,” Farah commented. And Norway's Caroline Graham Hansen, Ballon d'Or Féminin nominee and one of the best and most admired footballers on the planet, renowned for her sense of humor on the field.

Alexia, Caroline, Lauren, Farah, and present ambassador Leah Williamson will lead Pepsi's fresh football campaign, echoing the enthusiasm and challenger spirit that's changing the game. To celebrate the new Pepsi ambassadors and global football player roster, four individual murals can be seen globally. James' and Williamson's faces will line the London city walls in Chelsea and Holloway Road, Putellas' faces on Mollet del Vallès, and Graham Hansen's faces on Oslo. They will each symbolize the mood and the hardworking ethic of the players. 

From Leah Williamson to Vini Jr., Jack Grealish to Son Heung-min, the heritage of bringing football's biggest legends to life has been entrusted into the hands of Pepsi. And so the new season arrives a snapshot of the stunning abilities and inescapable magnetism of its superstar players.
