  • Rise AV launches its first APAC mentoring program, pairing 31 women with global industry mentors
  • Backed by major sponsors like QSC, Lightware, and ROE Visual
  • Six-month program includes mentoring, networking, training, and industry exposure

Rise AV is an organization that is not-for-profit focused on helping women in the AV industry; the inaugural Asia-Pacific mentoring program has paired 31 women with industry mentors from around the world. QSC, Lightware and ROE Visual are leading sponsors of this event. Rise AV is continuing to add sponsors throughout the APAC region and globally to support future programs.

The expansion of Rise AV into the APAC region comes on the heels of a successful mentoring program set up by Rise in the UK which began in January of 2025. Most applicants to the current program are from Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, and India, with a number of the mentors coming from companies such as JLL, MGM Macau, JP Morgan Chase and Meta.

The program lasts six months and consists of one-on-one mentoring sessions and virtual networking, as well as training in public speaking, branding and cultural workshops. In-person components of the mentoring program include: attending InfoComm Asia and site visits to MGM Macau. Due to the greater number of participants within the Asia Pacific region, most of the mentoring will be done through an online platform.

Peter Hunt, chairperson of the Rise AV APAC Regional Council, said: “Launching the APAC Mentoring Programme marks an exciting step forward in our mission to support women globally across the AV industry. The level of interest across the region has been incredible, and we are proud to deliver a programme that reflects the diversity, ambition, and unique cultural landscape of APAC.”

Since 2017, Rise AV has supported females working in the audio/visual technology sector and has branched out into the audio visual (AV) sector. The project is also intended to help solve the ongoing skills shortage within the industry, and thus develop the AV professionals of tomorrow.
