  • SoMe Solutions celebrates its 9th anniversary with the launch of a landmark empowerment program
  • The Unicorn Project is a ₦20 million initiative designed to uncover and invest in Nigeria's next big women-owned brand
  • The project aims to invest in, mentor, and grow potential female-owned businesses across Nigeria

To mark its ninth anniversary, SoMe Solutions, a top PR and communications firm, has rolled out The Unicorn Project, a ₦20 million program that seeks to discover, fund, and scale Nigeria's next great women-owned brand.

Launched to address the long-standing funding deficiency for women entrepreneurs in Nigeria—in which women-owned ventures receive less than 2 percent of venture capital—the effort goes well beyond economic aid. It offers strategic tools like mentorship, influencer partnerships, media engagement, and brand development, preparing women-owned ventures for growth across Africa.

At the core of the program, one outstanding entrepreneur will be awarded ₦500,000 cash and an all-encompassing brand makeover package worth ₦20 million. Three women-owned businesses will be covered under the program in total.

“This isn’t just funding—it’s a growth engine,” said Elizabeth Osho, Founder of SoMe Solutions. “We’ve seen incredibly talented women struggle to scale, not due to a lack of innovation, but because they lacked access to the right tools and networks. That’s exactly what The Unicorn Project is here to provide.”

The scheme is available to female entrepreneurs from all over Nigeria. After a nationwide call for application, 20 finalists will be selected based on brand promise and market readiness. Five entrepreneurs will proceed to pitch in a public exhibition, with the best three being selected via a combination of expert judgments and public voting.

The grand prize winner, who will be called The Unicorn, will get ₦500,000 cash and a ₦20 million brand growth package. The first runner-up will get ₦350,000 and strategic assistance, while the third winner will get ₦250,000 and access to expert mentorship.
