Target Group is a digital transformation, software, and business process outsourcing company that has reported remarkable progress in narrowing down the gap between women’s and men’s salaries.

The mean average gap between women’s and men’s earnings at Target Group, a company based in Newport, has reduced to 18.34 percent, which is a record low for the company. The gap has reduced from 19.58 percent last year and has come down significantly from close to 29 percent two years ago.

This is a remarkable achievement compared to other industries in the UK’s financial and insurance sector, which still have a gap of 27-30 percent, which means women earn 78p for every £1 earned by a man.

Along with reducing the gap between women’s and men’s earnings at Target Group, the company has also shown remarkable progress in enhancing women’s representation at senior management positions.

Currently, women make up 42 percent of senior management positions at Target Group compared to 30 percent last year. In 2025, women represented 65 percent of total promotions within Target.

Target Group remains focused on closing the gender divide regarding compensation through increased engagement with women’s networks, mentoring, and developmental programs. The company is focused on strengthening the confidence, capability, and visibility of women throughout all aspects of the business.

Target Group is making incremental advancements toward achieving its goal of eliminating the gender wage gap no later than the year 2030.

According to Melanie Spencer, Target Growth Director, “The tremendous growth we have achieved regarding representation, advancement, and opportunity is reflected in the lowest ever recorded gender wage gap. Our accomplishments have been a product of the expertise of our talented people, thus it is vital that we continue to create a fair and equitable reward structure for all employees.”

Gareth Roach, Chief People Officer, said, “At all levels within the organization, we are working to build balanced teams, and the impact of this effort has been demonstrated by the continuous reduction of the wage gap over the three reporting periods.

Our accomplishments should be celebrated but acknowledged as only being a part of our journey to achieve full equity across the organization.

Therefore, we will continue to focus on expanding developmental, mentoring, and leadership opportunities for women; enhancing inclusive hiring practices; and fostering a supportive, flexible culture that is conducive to success for all Team Members. The Continued success we have experienced in decreasing the wage gap has come about as a result of working together toward a unified vision."
