The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority honors female business owners who are developing tourism products that highlight aspects of adventure, culture and nature, contributing to the country’s hospitality and tourism sectors.

The Chief Executive Officer for the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, Louis Lewis made the statement during an observance of International Women’s Day which recognises the tourism industry’s many knowledgeable professionals and entrepreneurship excellence of those female entrepreneurs providing visitors with tourism products on expression of culture, the importance of community and support for continued development in the tourism sector.

One of the female entrepreneurs receiving recognition is Amy Stephens, co-founder of Pelican Tours. Based in Anse La Raye, in the western Caribbean Island of Saint Lucia, she launched her company in 2025 as the first tourist venture of Anse La Raye providing uniquely experiential tourism adventures offered through guided tour of electric bike riding, and kayaking.

Meveline Colmet Daage is the founder of Kayak on the Bay, based in Praslin on the east coast. She founded it based on her hospitality experience and created an eco-tourism product where people can kayak and learn about nature at the same time, especially when they kayak through mangroves and learn about sea moss farming.

Women's grate contribution in the tourism sector of Saint Lucia are the hospitality services provided by Donna Calderon-Oberius (opened in 2025), owner of Obey's Sanctuary in Black Bay, Vieux Fort, who provides apartment-style lodging for international tourists.

Together, all these businesses have demonstrated women's contribution to the development of the tourism industry on the island of Saint Lucia.
