  • SheHacks is broadening its assistance to women leaders in local communities
  • The program, PaPeDa, provides mentorship to assist the participants in creating technology-based solutions

SheHacks, a body that seeks to bridge gender divides in economic, education, health, and environmental fields, is reaching out to regional communities through the PaPeDa program to empower women leaders.

The program offers mentorship to assist participants in creating technology-based solutions with substantial local impact.

The program has a systematic, phased structure. It starts with virtual sessions, proceeds with a one-day face-to-face bootcamp for the first 15 participants, and moves on to a number of months of virtual mentoring coupled with the deployment of local pilot initiatives.

This structure provides practical skills to women community leaders in areas such as planning, narrative, and impact measurement so that they can undertake "mini SheHacks" projects within their respective domains.

PaPeDa is conducted in collaboration with UN Women and Kumpul.id, who facilitate the identification and mentoring of high-potential regional women with limited access to programs that empower community-driven solutions.

Irsyad Sahroni, Indosat Director and Chief Human Resource Officer, reiterates the firm's belief in empowering women in regional communities, confirming that women are crucial drivers of change and in building collective spaces.

Dwi Faiz, Programme Head at UN Women Indonesia, underscores the value of private sector involvement in gender equality promotion and in facilitating technology-led innovations by women.

Within a span of two months, eight participants will be chosen on the basis of proposal quality, measurement capacity for impact, willingness to implement solutions, and mentor reviews.

The shortlisting starts from 86 community women leaders and goes down to the Top 30, then the Top 15, and finally to the Top 8.

In the last phase, five-minute presentations with Q&A sessions will be presented by the participants. The Top 8 will be given a chance to be a part of advanced programs in 2026 along with the SheHacks team and partners.

They will also get to attend an advanced pitching skills class to pitch their mini pilot projects, expanding networks and gaining possible funding.

Finalists will be issued a PaPeDa Basic Certification as well as the chance to independently host one-day mini SheHacks in their own communities.

Irsyad added that PaPeDa is the gateway to empowering participants, readying them to lead change and make a difference in their communities.
